2020 WeldEye releases

WeldEye 6.40 – Released: 13 October, 2020

Technology upgrades:

The WeldEye® oncloud has several technology upgrades and is now using WeldEye version 6.40 oncloud has several technology upgrades and is now using:

  • Java 13
  • Wildfly 20
  • JasperReports 6

For the best experience, we recommend using latest Google Chrome as web browser.

Multi-weld NDT reports:

Weldindustry are happy to introduce Multi-weld NDT reports!

Now you can include several welds in one NDT report – to save even more time in your welding projects.

The reports will have a common header with reference to project, drawing, etc. as you are used to, but will have several welds – each with individual inspection reporting and signing and references to Engineering and Production information. You can also sign off the inspection of all welds just once in the report.

To use the new report, start by creating a new Layout Set in the Layout Set Manager (Main Menu > Administration > Layout Set Manager) and then connect this to your new project in Project Preferences (Main Menu > Project Administration > Preferences > General tab).

The following inspection reports are made as Multi-weld reports:

  • Visual (VT)
  • Magnetic (MT)
  • Penetrant (PT)
  • Radiographic (RT)
  • Ultrasonic (UT)
  • Positive Material Inspection (PMI)
  • General

You can add welds to a report either by :

  1. Use the checkboxes in Weld List Quality Inspection to choose several welds and then create the report with those welds using the Attach icon in the header of the column of the Inspection method, or
  2. Create a report as you are used to (using the Attach icon for the weld for the Inspection method) and then add welds in the report (see (c) below), or
  3. Open an existing report and in the report use the Add icon to choose a weld to add to the report.

There are easy copy and paste functions inside the report to facilitate quick reporting.

The reports use the Equipment Register extensively as basis for drop-downs to allow quick and correct input of fields – filling in many fields at once if such data has been entered in the Equipment Register. The drop-down have filtering and will, for instance only show equipment that has not expired.

The NDT operator or operators for each inspection can be added by choosing from a drop-down menu.

The menu will only show personnel with valid certificates (non-expired and signed ones) for the inspection method of the report, for instance Visual Testing.

You can add the operators manually.

You can also choose if you want to sign each individual inspection or all inspections in the Multi-weld NDT report.

Another great feature is that you can link a user to a NDT Operator and have WeldEye fill in data automatically based on the linked information when the user signs off.

So when your NDT personnel are signing reports in WeldEye, their operator number (Ref. no.) comes up automatically in the report.

You can link the NDT personnel to the user in Personnel Record (Main Menu > Personnel > Search > Survey > Personnel Record).

PS: Please note that you cannot switch between the use of Single- and Multi-weld Reports once you have created a report in a project. You therefore need to set the layouts correctly in a NEW project before creating reports in order to start using the Multi-weld NDT reports.

For more details on how to use Multi-weld NDT reports please read our “Description of using Multi-weld Inspection Reports”

Status Reports WPS:

The WeldEye® management system now includes a status report for finding defect rates per WPS.

A great way to quality check your WPS´ in real life!

Go to Main Menu > Welding Management > Status Reports > WPS.

This status report will show number of tests and defects  as well as defect rate each WPS is generating. It can also give you an overview of the relative share of the defect categories per WPS.

Filter your search

You can of course filter your search using several different criteria:

  • Project
  • NDT method
  • Defect category
  • Welder Id
  • WPS
  • Production welding dates

You can search across one or several projects, see status for last week, last month, last year, all according to your needs.

Using «Each» for the NDE method search criteria you will get the status grouped around each method listed. Similarly you can use «Each» for Defect category to get grouped status for each reported defect category as well as their relative share of the defect of the WPS.

A helpful tool in WPS quality management.

Equipment Register:

WeldEye now has its very own Equipment register!

Get full status of your equipment with information about supplier, serial and model number, calibration dates and warranty expiry dates.Every equipment entry has additional fields (attributes) depending of its type. The fields can later be used for search, filtering and auto-fill.You can even add purchase dates and price to keep track of your investment.

Equipment register also includes a handy description field, document URL and file-upload to see original or connected documents.

More powerful with WeldEye Management when reporting NDT:

Equipment register is useful on its own but its main benefit might be found in WeldEye management.

When reporting NDT, you can select the equipment used from a dropdown menu.

The menu will only show equipment based on the NDT method you are reporting, and only equipment that is reported as active.

WeldEye then uses the auto-fill function to automatically enter related data such as name of equipment, serial no, calibration date, batch no, etc. This is providing you have registered it of course.

New features added:

We at Weldindustry are excited to announce the release of several new functionalities in our WeldEye Welding management system. Some of the features now accessible for our WEM Cloud customers include:

Further details on each of these features listed above – our users have received full technical documentation.
